Supporting Renewable World at Christmas

Each Christmas, instead of sending traditional Christmas cards, AEA makes a donation to support the work of Renewable World.

Renewable World, formally known as the Koru Foundation, is a registered charity tackling poverty through renewable energy in South Asia, Central America and East Africa.

More than 1.4 billion people worldwide have no access to electricity.  Indoor air pollution from traditional fuels used for lighting and heating kills nearly 2 million people every year – mainly women and children. Working through local partners, Renewable World supports the provision of affordable renewable energy systems for remote off-grid communities.

Its projects light up homes, schools and health centres and pump clean water to households for washing, cleaning and cooking, and to fields for crop irrigation. Access to energy stimulates trade and enterprise and improves access to health and education opportunities.

Working in partnership with companies like AEA, Renewable World is making a real difference to the lives of people living in energy poverty.

“Renewable World would like to thank all at AEA for your company’s generous support of our 2011 Christmas e-card appeal. We raised over £11,000 in total to help us bring clean, affordable energy to off-grid communities in developing countries.
Thanks so much for being a part of that!”
