Daily air pollution news for BskyB

On behalf of, and working with the European Space Agency, we have launched a new service to provide earth observation imagery and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions information to the media and public.


The first user signed up to the service is Sky News, which is running a series of programmes in conjunction with, and to follow up the 15th United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen (COP15).  The Greenhouse Gas Observatory, developed by AEA, provide data streams in the form of images, graphics, maps and complete stories.

Essential 24 hour chemical emergency service

AEA are responsible for NCEC (National Chemical Emergency Centre) which provides a 24 hour national advice service to the public emergency services on dealing with chemical incidents, and is a central part of the Chemical Industries Associations Chemsafe scheme.


NCEC, which has been operational for 36 years, is staffed by a team of Emergency Responders; qualified chemists with extensive training in chemical health and safety, emergency response and communication skills. Visit NCEC's website >> click here

Carbon Disclosure Project

In 2010 AEA continued to support the UK Government's Public Procurement Programme in partnership with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).  The CDP is a registered charity that supports organisations in exploring their emissions, risks and opportunities embedded within their supply chain.  AEA provided analytical support, carbon management expertise and market insight to analyse the data using a methodology developed by AEA on behalf of the CDP.
