Chris will bring a wealth of expertise and experience to further develop AEA's expanding international climate change business and to raise its profile in key markets. Chris will be building on AEA's recent success on projects including: studies for the European Commission on monitoring, reporting and verification of international climate finance, potential reform of the Clean Development Mechanism and options for Member States to achieve their climate change targets.

Robert Bell - Director AEA Europe said

"To bring someone of Chris' experience and knowledge to AEA is incredibly exciting and will bring about new opportunities for the Company at a time when we believe there is so much more we can contribute to the ongoing development of international climate change policy. Chris's expertise will also be invaluable in helping the US business advise their clients on climate change developments."

Commenting on his appointment, Chris added

"I'm really looking forward to using my UK Government experience to support international organisations and other governments in the design and implementation of smart policies which will reduce carbon intensity and leverage private sector investment into low carbon technologies globally. The AEA group has a unique track record in working with Governments in Europe and the US on climate and energy policy and is ideally placed to play a major role in assisting governments in meeting the pledges they have made to tackle climate change and achieve low carbon growth."

Chris has extensive experience in managing policy development projects and leading national and international climate change policy. His knowledge base of the carbon markets, and EU and UK environmental regulation is second to none and he will be a great asset to AEA.
