Robert Bell – Director – AEA Europe

Robert Bell has leadership responsibility for AEA Europe and draws upon extensive experience of working with the UK Government, and of US Federal Departments.  Robert has held several senior posts in AEA, most recently as Chief Technical Officer which spanned both the UK and US operations. He has worked in the energy and environmental field for over ten years. His technical focus earlier in his career was within the nuclear and oil and gas sectors.

Robert has led and been involved in a large number of projects in the areas of energy supply and demand, climate change, energy security, environmental management,  and sustainability. These have included multi-£m Government funded R&D and best practice programmes, which have operated between Government and businesses, high profile policy support projects, and major private sector assignments.

Since AEA acquired Project Performance Corporation (PPC) in 2008, and Eastern Research Group (ERG) in 2010, Robert has spent half of his time in the US.  He has gained a significant understanding of the state of development of the US approach to climate change and emissions control, and specific  ways in which AEA’s European technical and policy experience can add value for US customers.  Similarly he has worked on the opportunities for PPC and ERG’s capabilities to enhance AEA’s solutions for UK and European customers.
